FILE PREPARATION GUIDELINES

In order to facilitate rapid turnaround and optimum results of your image, please conform to the following guidelines.

Submit your art in CMYK.

If your layout...  
  vector art only …has been completely drawn in a vector application:
(Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Freehand, Corel Draw etc.)
and uses no bitmapped images.
• Convert all text into outlines.
• Export and submit your art as an .ai file (Adobe Illustrator).
• See 'Print Information' below.
bitmap art only …is a single bitmapped file:
(Adobe Photoshop, or any other application that creates
an image composed of pixels.)
• Save and submit your image as a .tif or .eps image.
(120 pixels per inch at final size for best quality).
• See 'Print Information' below.
  vector and bitmap art … uses both vector and bitmapped images:
(Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Freehand, Corel Draw etc.) and uses bitmapped images.
• Convert all text into outlines.
• Place the bitmapped image(s) into the
vector application as a linked file.
• Export and submit your art as an .ai file (Adobe Illustrator)
• Include the linked bitmapped image(s) SEPARATELY as a .tif or .eps file.
(120 pixels per inch at final size for best quality).

Please DO NOT create your final file in Quark Xpress, Adobe Pagemaker, Adobe Acrobat or other compositing applications. Our full color images are NOT output as separations and these applications imbed color profiles, which produce unpredictable results when printed with our system.

Whenever possible please provide a proof that accurately represents the layout and closely represents color content that you expect to see in your final print.

Please include a small text file with the artwork that gives:
• Company or person submitting artwork.
• Final print dimensions and quantity.
• Finishing if a banner, whether by BMT or others.
Finishing information is needed to determine how the image is transferred onto fabric. Extra fabric may be needed for pole pockets, borders etc.

BMT maintains an ftp site for around the clock electronic file submission. For access please contact BMT.
Please submit files on CD (preferred) or zip disks (100M or 250M) if not using the ftp site. Please label the disk as to file(s) and company in order to assure return especially in the case of zip disks.
